PKT Trip (May 2015)

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY

Logistics and International Shipping Society of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman has organized a trip to visit PKT Logistics Group Sdn. Bhd. (PKT) for May 2015 Trimester on 25^th August 2015. The congregation of all participants was carried out in front of the shop of 501 Darts. An educational field trip at PKT and SFFLA which fell on a Tuesday, starting from 6am and ending at 8pm. 

Through all the commitment from all organizing committees, the interaction day was held successfully and work as the planned. There are total of 59 participants in PKT trip which achieved organizing committees’ expectation. 

After going back from this trip, all participants were clearly understood that what the operations were going on of PKT Logistics Group Sdn. Bhd. (PKT). PKT is the leading logistics company which involves superior supply chain management processes that makes them the benchmark of the industry. This company is focused on providing high efficiency and short transit times in serving their customers. Currently, a diverse range of market sectors including Automotive, FMCG, F & B and Renewable Energy has been added into their area of focus to expand their customer base and create a niche in the market.

PKT has developed their business in a variety of areas such as freight forwarding, customs brokering, contract logistics, warehouse management and also be the third party logistic for haulage and the distribution ofcargo.

Besides, Selangor Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association (SFFLA) is an association in Port Klang that focuses on improving the level of professionalism in the industry via education and development of standardised regulations.SFFLA represents by providing all licensed forwarding agents and logistics players in Selangor consultancy and guidance pertaining to logistics business activities. Other than that,this association also sets up an effective systemin monitoring freight forwarding and the logistics field in Malaysia, particularly Selangor.
